Florida Inmate Search - FL Department of Corrections Inmate Locator (2023)

Find inmates incarcerated in Florida (FL) State prisons, Federal prison, County jails and the Florida Department of corrections (FLDOC).

Step 1: The Florida Department of Corrections offers several types of Florida offender related searches. The Corrections Offender Database includes searches for all types of offenders – including those that have been released or under general supervision while the Florida Inmate Population Information Search provides searches for only incarcerated Florida inmates. All available searches may be found here.

For the comprehensive Florida Corrections Offender Database, enter all known information about the Florida inmate you’re searching for (first name, last name, and/or Department of Corrections number). You can select whether to include aliases in the search (i.e. names or nicknames that the inmate may have operated under) and you can chose whether to only show results with photos or not (the default is to show all results whether there’s a photo or not. The default setting is to not show photos of inmates in the results, so untick this box if you wish to see photos in your results. Then submit your request.

Step 2: The results page will ask you to specify which population you would like to search.

Inmate Population is all Florida inmates who are currently incarcerated.

Inmate Release is are all former Florida inmates who have been released.

Supervised Population are Florida convicts who are not necessarily in prison, but are still supervised by the Florida DOC.

The Absconder/Fugitives are Florida convicts who are supposed to be under the supervision of the DOC, but have failed to make themselves available for supervision.

The Inmate Escape are Florida inmates who have escaped from custody of the DOC.

For our purposes, we will select the Inmate Population search results.

Step 3: On the Florida Inmate Population search results page, you will see all the inmates matching your criteria, including a full name, race, sex, release date, facility, and date of birth as well as a photo, if this option was selected.

Step 4: By clicking on either the mug shot or name, you will be taken to a full report on the Florida inmate, including a larger mug shot, aliases, current prison sentence history, and overall prison/incarceration history.

Florida Sex Offender Search
The Florida Department of Law Enforcement maintains a Sexual Offender and Predator search database. To access it, click the link above and enter either a name of a Florida sex offender. Note that you will not be able to access this page if you are located outside the US. You can specify whether you’re looking for an offender residing in Florida only or someone who has committed an offense that may be living outside Florida. You can also search by a specific address to receive a radius search.

The results will include a name, photo, and address of the Florida sex offender. You have the option to track the offender’s address or you may view a full flyer on the offender.

Clicking on the View Flyer link will take you to a printable one-page flyer on the offender that includes a larger photo, physical description, aliases, vehicle information, and details on the crime committed.

The Florida DOC provides each inmate with a telephone account upon entering the system that allows them to make collect calls to personal land line and cell phones.

This link also provides information about emailing a Florida inmate and sending mail.

Florida Most Wanted
The Florida DOC provides a searchable database of wanted escapees and absconders. Searches may be made by name or by their Florida Department of Corrections number.

Results include a full given name, DC Number, and date of birth.

Clicking on a name will take you to a profile page with a photo (if available), a physical description, details about the crimes committed, and information about the escape.

Search for Florida Prisons
Search by the name of the Florida prison, jail, or federal facility for visitation hours, phone numbers, addresses, direct website links, and other prison details.
